Beyond Impact 2025: 1K Women Strong on Building Sisterhood

Now more than ever, it’s on each and every one of us to build the beloved community and keep our networks strong. This session explored how Black women can create and sustain their communities through grassroots events, intimate in-person gatherings and digital spaces.

Black women have historically led community-driven initiatives, and this work only continues. By leveraging coalitions, collective storytelling and digital activism, these spaces foster empowerment, healing and social change. Our team members Aja Gaddie, Dr. Brisha Brichelle, Tania Johns and Joi Donaldson have decades of experience in what we’ve come to know as “political organizing,” but it’s time to rethink that term. What we’re really doing is bolstering sisterhood in our respective lives.

We loved being in community with incredible leaders and movement makers, sharing our perspective and tactics, and working to increase connection in our respective lives. Thank you to the Tides Advocacy team for having us!
