Job Title: Social Media Associate
Duration: Contract-basis, from May through December.
Location: Remote, with the potential for intermittent travel.
Job Summary:
1K Women Strong Inc., a national organizing hub focused on unleashing the political power of Black women, is seeking a creative and enthusiastic Social Media Associate to join our team during the 2024 election season, with the potential to renew in 2025. The ideal candidate will be passionate about social media, have a keen eye for content creation, and be willing to experiment with our social media platforms. This is a brand new position, and you will have the freedom to make this role your own as you implement a social media strategy through the 2024 election season, engage with our audience, and help to grow our online presence across various platforms.
Responsibilities:
Develop and execute social media strategies to increase brand awareness and drive engagement.
Create and curate engaging content for various social media platforms, including but not limited to Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and TikTok.
Manage day-to-day activities on social media channels, including scheduling posts, responding to comments and messages, and monitoring trends.
Collaborate with our communications director to ensure consistency in messaging and branding across all social media channels.
Analyze social media metrics and insights to optimize content performance and identify areas for improvement.
Stay up-to-date with the latest social media trends, tools, and best practices.
Monitor competitor activity and industry trends in social media.
Qualifications:
Interest or experience in managing social media accounts.
Strong understanding of social media platforms, algorithms, and analytics tools.
Passion for politics or organizing.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Creative mindset with a passion for storytelling and content creation.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Detail-oriented with strong organization skills and a creative mindset.
